SPEEDOMETER 140 MPH CONVERSION

When the DeLorean was sold in the USA from 1981-1983, Federal Law required that speedometers could not read over 85mph and that 55mph (the National Maximum Speed Limit, or NMSL, at the time) be highlighted in the color orange.

For planned sales in the UK and Europe, a 140mph speedometer was designed and very small number were made. We used that as a guide, with slight modifications so as not to devalue the rare factory 140mph units, when we created our own 140mph speedometer face.

This is an original factory 85mph speedometer, with a new 140mph face, and recalibrated for accuracy. Each unit is tested at our Texas facility for calibration before being shipped out and comes with a new, virtually unbreakable trip reset shaft - knobs, spacer and nut available separately if required.
