SUNSHADE/LOUVRE

Aesthetically, a striking feature of the design of the DeLorean - and functionally, it does help heat exit the engine compartment, reduce engine noise in the passenger compartment and of course, as a "sunshade", helps block the sun from coming in the back window. Most of the time they will have crack - evidenced by a thin white line - along the center spine. In this instance, rather than replace, we recommend installing a sunshade louvre brace to reinforce the center spine. Brace or no, always close the sunshade louvre evenly, gently lowering it with a hand on each of the left and right hand edges. Make sure your louvre struts are in good operating condition, too. Weak struts can let the sunshade louvre fall and cause new or exacerbate existing damage.
