New Original Stock, or NOS, part traces its origins back to 1982, when the DeLorean factory closed. In some cases, the part has traveled from the original supplier in the US to Dunmurry before making it's way to Ohio and finally Texas!
The big foam energy absorbing beam just behind the rear bumper cover (fascia) and attached to the rear chassis (frame) crossmember. The black plastic coating often peels and falls off, and heat and age usually make the foam very hard and less energy absorbing that originally designed to be. The remaining inventory of these are still very soft and energy absorbing, but the condition of the black plastic coating varies from piece to piece.
