Reproduction Part is one that has been re-created using the factory engineering drawings, but with modern materials and techniques. These parts are only modified to improve functionality or simplify tooling and/or manufacturing.
In 2021 we worked with an automotive engineering firm and our weatherstripping supplier to improve upon the latest factory outer door seal design. The results are in, and these are the seals you want on your DeLorean! With a modified channel and upgraded with a modern rubber, these inner door seals fit the car nicely.
It's important to note that most issues with torn door seals - typically at the tops of the A-pillar and B-pillar near the outermost corners of the headliners - are usually the result of ill-fitting headliners or door pillar trim. In some cases, we see where a sagging roof box causes door adjustment problems that will affect the fit and cause damage to the inner door seals, as well.
Each seal still comes with (14) of the SP10497 - if you car has the red clips, make sure you replace them with these - retaining clips.
