The DeLorean's original 80 amp Ducellier alternators used up to about VIN 4539 were underrated for the amperage requirements of the car and the factory moved to the 90 amp Motorola alternators which were good but in 2008 it became clear that quality rebuild components were no longer available. It was at that time when we made the move to have our own, made in America, modern 120 amp alternators produced exclusively for us and they have proven themselves by providing excellent output at idle and speed.
