A cursory visual inspection by Classic DMC staff revealed:

EXTERIOR/UNDERCARRIAGE

  • Exterior body in very good condition - needs a good blending.
  • Doors open and close nicely with good alignment - some rubstrips loose. Roofbox very secure, but shows evidence of internal rust. The fact that it is secure to the underbody and the doors open and close nicely is a good sign, however.
  • Minor "eyebrowing" on fascia.
  • Early gray wheels in passable condition with very minor curb rash and one large chipped spot as shown in photos.
  • Louvre cracked and a "so-so" repair job made.
  • A fair amount of surface rust on the painted undercarriage components, but the frame is in good shape - just dirty. Cleans off easily with solvent and looks to be a nice frame as shown in photos.
  • Transmission (rubber) mounts recommended.
  • All factory recalls appear to have been completed.
  • Original antenna windshield has cracks in lower left and right corners, but do not impede visibility.

INTERIOR/LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT

  • Interior shows it's age - needs a dash, binnacle recover, seat covers, headliners passable.
  • Evidence of a battery leak with acid damaged to passenger floor carpet. Battery cut off switch fitted to incorrect, oversize battery.
  • Center console, steering wheel, kneepads, upper/lower door panels and cargo net all appear age appropriate and all but RH floor carpet appear age/mileage appropriate.
  • Original Craig radio display works, but tuner inoperable - faceplate cracked.
  • Console clock present and operable but some display segments are dark.
  • Instrument cluster gauges are in good shape with bright orange numbers where appropriate. Trip reset shaft intact, but appears original.
  • Luggage compartment in good shape, jack and handle present, spare tire looks never to have been used. Courtesy light cracked.

ENGINE

  • A fair amount of surface rust on the painted engine compartment components
  • Freshly rebuilt (August 2025) fuel distributor, warmup regulator, frequency valve
  • Braided stainless fuel lines fitted

OTHER

  • Newer DeLorean Motor Company 107000 fuel module installed.
  • RH window motor/regulator replaced with new style version at some point in the past.
  • Original fusebox in nice condition with no melted fuses.
  • Older, aftermarket relay update kit installed.
  • Power door lock inoperable - early style door locks fitted.
  • Road testing completed after the August 2025 service at DMC has shown the car to be a nice driver, with good engine performance, braking and engine cooling. Electrical charging and HVAC function as designed.
