RH FRONT OUTER DOOR SEAL (MOLDED CORNER)

You say that you've never seen a DeLorean outer door seal with a molded corner? That's not surprising as factory records in our archives indicate that no more than a few hundred of the very latest production cars received these parts.

Engineering Change Authority (ECA) 3608 was created on Thursday, December 3rd, 1981 by R.H. Sykes, of the Production Engineering & Development department. The summary notes of the ECA reads, in part "to introduce one-piece 'A' & 'B' post secondary seals...and incorporate a moulded corner at windscreen pillar - front fender intersection on 'A' post secondary seal".

The stated reason for change will come as no surprise to most DeLorean owners today - "poor quality standard & retention to body with existing secondary seals". Just by looking at the handful of very late production cars that received these seals, the improvement is obvious. 

When we discovered the factory drawings for these parts in our archive, we immediately sent them off to our supplier for quoting. The molded corners add a bit to the costs, but we were so sure that you’ll want beautifully-fitting seals on your car that we went ahead and had them manufactured especially for us.
